Ex-boyfriend arrested in Lod double homicide

Suspect in satisfactory condition in suicide attempt after fatal stabbing of ex and another man in woman’s apartment.

A man and woman in their 30s were stabbed to death in the woman’s Lod apartment on Monday in what police are describing as a domestic dispute carried out by an enraged ex-boyfriend.
He was arrested and hospitalized after the attack.
While details of the double homicide remain largely unknown pending an investigation, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the unidentified suspect entered Victoria Seingerbert’s apartment while she was with Maurice Samalsuili.
Both victims were 38 years old and residents of Lod. Their relationship was unclear, according to Rosenfeld.
The suspect entered the house, stabbed the two to death and then tried to commit suicide. An investigation has been opened into his motives, Rosenfeld added.
“We’re still looking into the background, but as far as we understand, it was a criminal domestic murder,” he said.
Police units arrived at the building within minutes after receiving multiple calls from alarmed neighbors, according to Rosenfeld.
“Police cordoned off the area around the apartment building and arrested the suspect at the scene shortly after the murders took place,” Rosenfeld said. “He was transferred to an area hospital in moderate-to-serious condition and will be arraigned as soon as he is treated and released.”
