While weather and congestion are prominent causes for air traffic delays, an El Al flight on Tuesday experienced an unforeseen holdup at Ben-Gurion Airport due to a different type of hairy situation - a cat.
The flight to New York on Israel's national carrier was due to depart at 2:30 p.m., however the small feline had furrowed into the aircraft's cargo hold, causing staff on the ground to undertake a wild goose chase lasting hours, according to Channel 10 News.
As of about 5:30 p.m. the curious intruder had not been located in the incident that could be described as a feline "faux paw."
