A team from the city's municipality arrived at the scene in an effort to remove the offending graffiti.
Police opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
Swastikas being sprayed on public property in Israel is not a new phenomenon.
In April Tel Aviv Police opened an investigation into who was responsible for drawing swastikas and Palestinian flags on a synagogue in Jaffa’s mixed Jewish-Arab Ajami neighborhood.
Unknown assailants vandalized the synagogue, writing the graffiti in charcoal, which was quickly washed off the morning after. In addition, someone punctured the tires of a car belonging to a Jewish family that lives next to the synagogue.
