Without a recording it's impossible to be sure what Ramon said to Erekat. But, should an opposition politician be conducting diplomacy with the rep of a hostile foreign government? By playing the role of a shadow gov't Ramon gives the appearance of trying to undermine the legal Israeli gov't which has the authority to negotiate. As an opposition leader he sure wasn't praising Natanyahu. Ramon deserves political rebuke and its consequences.
A shell game if there ever was one. JPost doubtfully has the dignity to print. Its funny how "everyone" works together when the plan for greater Israel is really threatened. What other routines do Israeli politicians have up there sleeves? Hopefully its another 6 years worth because Obama isnt going away anytime soon unless he is foolish enough to make a trip to Israel where the'll be a sniper on ever corner waiting for him
The narrative is outrageous if true and if true the theme is nothing new. Read Ariel Sharon's WARRIOR in which he states that in the life-and-death Yom Kippur War, politics played a role in directives that he received in his battle to retake and cross the Suez Canal. At some point this behavior crosses the line from "treacherous" to "treason."
Well done, Gil, aside from the silly quotes from "sources in Kadima" that sound like silly tabloid sleeze...other than that, good job! The story tells itself and you allowed it to do that, which is great...it needs to be brought out in the light.
Not only is there scheming on the left to utilize the special relationship with the US to undermine Netanyahu, but now we have evidence of a leftist politician and Knesset member working directly against Israeli interests in dealing with the Palestinians for party gain. Is isn't just the Israeli left-wing NGOs and university intellectuals anymore.
