Police arrested two suspects shortly after the attack, and said that the incident appeared to be linked to a feud between two criminals.
It was not immediately clear whether the youth was the intended target of the attack.
A Magen David Adom paramedic crew arrived at the scene minutes after the blast and attempted to treat the victim, but he died of his multiple injuries soon afterwards.
"He was found unconscious and suffered massive blood loss. Paramedics tried to stem the bleeding, but they were forced to declare him dead," a Magen David Adom spokesman told Channel 10.
