Palestinian diabetes sufferer dies during lengthy wait; Tibi: Barak to blame.

The IDF was continuing Sunday to investigate the circumstances behind the death of a 63-year-old Palestinian man who, according to reports, was made to wait for hours at an army checkpoint north of the Jordan Valley.Palestinian medical officials said that man, who suffered from diabetes, died of dehydration and a cardiac arrest during the lengthy wait Saturday night at the Hamra checkpoint.Related: 'Dead' Gaza youth returns home alive Crossing KalandiyaAccording to eyewitnesses, the man was held back since he also heldFrench citizenship and was therefore required to receive specialclearance to pass through the checkpointUAL-TA’AL MK Ahmed Tibisaid Defense Minister Ehud Barak was responsible for the man’s death,and expressed hope that French President Nicolas Sarkozy wouldintervene in the matter.“The checkpoint orders lead tohumiliation and oppression of the Palestinian civilian population,” hesaid in a statement Sunday. "Whoever gave these orders bearsresponsibility for the man’s death."
