FBI Director Robert Mueller met with Israel Police Insp.-Gen. David
Cohen at police headquarters in Jerusalem on Thursday, where two men
discussed cooperation against organized international crime and joint
efforts on counter-terrorism.
The meeting was also attended by Cmdr. Yoav Seglovitch, head of the
Investigations and Intelligence Branch and Dep.-Cmdr. Ronni Ritman, head
of the Intelligence Department.
Cohen said during the meeting that the two law enforcement agencies had
enjoyed "fruitful cooperation" in recent years, and briefed Mueller over
"the complexities of missions faced by the Israel Police which are
unique to it, counter-terrorism, maintaining public order, and crime
fighting."
Mueller described Israel as a "close ally," adding that operational
cooperation would continue.
He said the struggle against organized crime
and computer crime was borderless, as was the joint struggle against
terrorism.
