The 39-year-old mother who threw her two young children out a fourth-storey window before jumping in a suicide attempt has been charged with attempted murder, child abuse and neglect on Monday.
"You are going to heaven," the mother, an immigrant originally from Tajikistan, was described by the indictment in Tel Aviv District Court as saying before throwing her children out the window.

During the week-long binge, the mother's friend testified that she took in the children for several days after visiting her friend and finding her drunk and her children making a complete mess of the apartment. The woman then cleaned up the apartment, poured out any remaining alcohol in the apartment and took her friend's children into her care, but the mother came to her apartment to return her kids home after two days. Then, the mother continued to drink and neglect their needs for the remainder of the week until the day she jumped from the apartment with her children.
Stunned neighbors reported hearing cries from the children as they lay on the ground after the fall, and called emergency services.
Magen David Adom paramedics evacuated the four-year-old boy in moderate-to-serious condition and the five-year- old girl in moderate condition to the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center. The boy, who sustained a head injury, had to be sedated and placed on a ventilator.
The woman was hospitalized in serious condition, and underwent surgery for numerous injuries sustained in the fall. However, she was fully conscious throughout the incident, police and paramedics said. She is currently under psychiatric watch.
The woman told police at the scene that she had intended to kill her two children and commit suicide, a police spokeswoman said.
