Maj.-Gen. Gadi Eisencott officially replaced OC Northern Command Maj. -Gen. Udi Adam at his post Thursday afternoon.
Lt.-General Dan Halutz and Defense Minister Amir Peretz attended the ceremony, along with other senior Staff officers.
Adam decided to resign from his post, reportedly due to ongoing differences between himself and Halutz, prompted by the war in Lebanon.
