Jewish group claims sexism, not politics, behind Arab Wonder Woman ban
In new video, World Jewish Congress argues that Lebanon,Algeria and Tunisia banned the blockbuster, not because the protagonist is played by an Israeli but because she's a woman.

The World Jewish Congress released a new video on Facebook arguing that sexism and not politics are behind the decision by Lebanon, Tunisia and Algeria to ban the blockbuster superhero movie "Wonder Woman."The wildly successful film, which presents the origin story of one of the world's most iconic comic book characters was denied from airing in the three Arab countries, they claimed that because the lead actress Gal Gadot is an Israeli citizen who served in the IDF and expressed support for Israeli troops during the 2014 Israeli war with Gaza.But according to the World Jewish Congress, an international advocacy federation of Jewish communities and organizations, the real reason for the ban has less to do with Arab support for the Palestinians in Gaza or their opposition to the Jewish State and everything to do with sexism and fear of presenting their public with a strong female character.
