To mark Holocaust Memorial Day, Jewish blogger Popchassid has put together a collection of photos that offer us a different perspective of Jews during, and the survivors after, the Shoah.
Entitled "20 Photos That Change The Holocaust Narrative", the images include an 85-year-old survivor skydiving, a member of the British army's Jewish Brigade carrying a rocket inscribed in Hebrew with the words “a gift for Hitler”, and a woman survivor attacking a Swedish skinhead in 1985.
The pictures, writes Popchassid, are a "story that shows our inner power, our inner turmoil in dealing with a situation we cannot comprehend, our attempts to gain justice, and our final steps into moving above and beyond our past and into a new future."
