By JPOST.COM STAFF
According to the Arab-language Al-Mayadin television network, the Hermes Model drone was shot down near Baghdad Airport, the third Israeli UAV to be intercepted in last week.
An Israeli drone was reportedly downed in Iraq – the third time an unmanned aerial vehicle was shot out of the sky in the last month.
According to the Arab-language Al-Mayadeen television network, the Hermes Model drone was shot down near Baghdad Airport.
The Iranian news agency Fars reported that American Embassy personnel rushed to the site of the crashed drone to collect debris and remains.
Iran threatened a military response
against Israel on Tuesday after the Revolutionary Guard claimed to have shot down a spy drone that approached the Natanz nuclear facility on Monday.
“Our response to this aggression will not be diplomatic, we will retaliate in the battlefield, but will not necessarily announce it. The enemy will see and understand it,” Revolutionary Guard Lieutenant Commander Brig.-Gen. Hussein Salami was quoted as saying.
Hamas’s armed wing claimed Monday that it had succeeded in seizing an Israeli reconnaissance drone in east Shejaia in Gaza City.
The Izzadin Kassam Brigades announced the seizure of a “Zionist reconnaissance plane” via its Arabic Twitter account.
The announcement included a photograph of a masked Kassam Brigades fighter holding a small, unmarked gray craft.
They added that they intended to release a video of the drone.
