His impressive list of achievements includes being the chief foreign policy adviser to former PM Ariel Sharon, ambassador to the US for 4 years, and chairman of Nefesh B'Nefesh. The Israel Beiteinu MK currently serves as Israel's deputy foreign minister. As well as playing a key role in the road map for peace negotiationsbetween former PM Ariel Sharon and former president George Bush, Ayalonwas also a staunch defender of the 2005 disengagement from Gaza.More recently, Ayalon voiced fears over a nuclear-armed Iran,commenting that an "Iranian reactor constitutes a danger to the entireregion and to world peace in general."
