MP Muhammad Raad of the Hezbollah-led Loyalty to the Resistance bloc apparently told reporters that the visit reflected the party’s will to promote cooperation with Russia on issues of mutual concern.
The Russian parliamentary committee for relations with Middle Eastern
parliaments invited the delegation, Raad said, according to the paper.
According to the report, the Hezbollah members met with Russian deputy
speaker Vladimir Zhirinovsky and discussed various topics including the
role the US plays in the Middle East. The delegation also discussed
regional affairs with the chairman of the Russian parliamentary foreign
affairs committee, Constantine Kosachev.
