The Global Sumud Flotilla said the convoy had been paused while security risks were being evaluated, citing indications that Libyan forces were waiting at Sirte to confront them.

Radan also claimed that the regime’s security forces had killed “166 armed and professional thieves” who were taking advantage of wartime conditions and who resisted arrest.  

The State Department noted that recent statements and actions taken by senior members of the PLO are incompatible with the recognition of Israel and its right to live free from threats.

The attack follows a drone attack in the area of Abu Dhabi’s Barakah nuclear plant on Sunday. The two attacks could be connected, although it is too early to tell.
