1 killed, 19 injured in a fire in Ramle building

Woman dies after jumping from fourth floor to escape flames, 8-month-old baby, 6 residents moderately injured from fire.

One woman died and nineteen people were injured after a fire broke out in a fourth floor apartment of a residential building on David Raziel Street in the city of Ramle on Saturday night.
A woman who jumped from the fourth floor to escape the flames died after succumbing to her injuries. The woman was rushed to Assaf Harofeh Hospital in Rishon Letzion, however later succumbed to her injuries.
The fire also moderately injured an eight-month-old baby.
MDA teams called to the scene evacuated the injured, with one in critical condition, six in a medium condition and eleven others suffering from smoke inhalation at various levels.
The injured were evacuated to Assaf Harofeh Hospital, Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot and the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer.
Seven mobile rescue teams and six MDA ambulances came to give care to the wounded. Fire services managed to get the blaze under control by around 3:30 a.m.
It was still unclear what caused the outbreak of the fire.
