Magen David Adom paramedics who arrived at the beach found the body of a 30-year-old woman with visible injury marks, and pronounced her dead on the scene.
Police forces arrived at the scene and arrested two suspects on suspicion of being linked to the murder.
One of the possibilities being investigated by police is that one or both of the suspects struck the woman with a blunt object after she rejected sexual advances.
An intensive homicide investigation has been launched by the Lachish police sub-district's central unit.
The suspects have denied any involvement. They are due to appear before the Ashdod Magistrate's Court on Friday for a remand hearing.
