The Southern District Attorney’s office announced on Monday that it is suing in
civil court three defendants convicted and sentenced to prison terms for
stealing gasoline from IDF bases.
The district attorney filed a NIS 1
million civil lawsuit in the Kiryat Gat Magistrate’s Court against the three
men, who were convicted in a criminal trial last July and sentenced to various
prison terms and fines.
In a move that a spokesman for the state
attorney’s office dubbed “part of the state’s battle against crime,” the civil
suit asks the court to order the three men to compensate the state for the
stolen gasoline with the amount of NIS 1 million plus interest.

The Pazomat system is installed on a car’s fuel entry point,
and connects to a computer system ran by the Paz gas company.

The three defendants reinstalled the stolen Pazomat apparatuses
on eight different cars and used them to steal large quantities of gasoline from
various Paz stations, the indictment says.

Currently, Baruch Kadosh and Ilan Kadosh
are both serving eight years in prison for the offenses, and Barbi is serving a
