The brother of Erez Szpakier – a 24-year-old Israeli hiker who was missing for around five days in Chile – said Thursday evening that his brother had been found in good health.Shaul Szpakier wrote on his Facebook page that his father and uncle were on their way to meet Erez.“We understood he slipped or deviated from the path,” Shaul wrote.Earlier, local authorities and an insurance company’s search and rescue team had been scouring Chile’s Puyehue National Park for Erez.A Foreign Ministry official said Thursday that the embassy in Santiago was in contact with both local officials and Erez’s family. The official said the hiker was believed to have entered the park on his own.The massive park, located in the Andes, is known for its thermal springs, volcanoes – some of them active – and lush evergreen forests.
