Israelis paid tribute to fallen soldiers and terror victims during Remembrance Day ceremonies in Jerusalem and across the country on Tuesday, followed by a two-minute siren at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The entire country was to come to a halt during the siren.Ceremonies were scheduled to continue on Wednesday in remembrance of the 22,993 soldiers who have fallen in defense of Israel since 1860 – the year the first Jews left Jerusalem’s Old City walls to settle other parts of the country.
