Palestinian says he stabbed ultra-Orthodox Jew to take revenge against Israel

Petah Tikva police arrest more suspects in attack which took place near Geha junction.

A Palestinian man from Nablus stabbed a haredi man in a random terror attack in Petah Tikva Sunday in order to avenge recent operations by Israeli security services, Sharon sub-district police said Monday.
The man, aged 34, was one of several Arab men police and security services brought in for questioning after the stabbing next to the Geha interchange in the city on Sunday night. Police said that while under interrogation by security officials, the man admitted that the stabbing was not personal or criminal, and was meant as an act of vengeance.
Witnesses to the attack on Sunday night said a group of haredi men were walking on Jabotinsky Street next to the interchange when an Arab man walked past them and then, without warning or saying a word, stabbed one of the men and fled on foot.
The victim was moderately wounded and taken for treatment at the nearby Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Campus.
Immediately after the stabbing, police fanned out across the area around the interchange, one of the busiest in Israel, in a manhunt for the alleged attacker. Within an hour or so, police said they had detained a number of Palestinian men, and by morning they announced that security officials said the man had confessed to the alleged terror attack.
