Former president Katsav to stay behind bars this Passover court rules
Katsav who was convicted for rape in 2011 received a furlough for the Purim holiday last month.

Former president Moshe Katsav struck out on getting a second vacation from prison in a short period of time with the Lod District Court on Thursday rejecting his request to vacation with his family over the Passover holiday.The Israel Prison Service had previously rejected Katsav's request on the grounds that he had received a furlough for spending the Purim holiday with his family less than 60 days ago, a standard cut-off for limiting furloughs.Given the court's rejection of his appeal from the IPS decision, this will be Katsav's third Passover behind bars following a seven year prison sentence for rape. Katsav left prison in September of last year for his first 24-hour furlough since he was convicted in December 2011.Katsav spent the furlough at his home in Kiryat Malachi, and was allowed to leave to attend prayers at a synagogue nearby. He did not have to wear an ankle monitor, but had to check in with police at the end of the break before returning to prison.Ben Hartman contributed to this report.
