Intermittent showers accompanied by strong winds and isolated thunderstorms in the North and Center were experienced throughout Sunday. The rain and the winds are predicted to subside over the course of the evening.

The rain in the North and Center is forecasted to spread to the Negev on Sunday evening, with continued risk of flash floods in low-lying areas, according to the Israel Meteorological Service.

Large swaths of Eilat were flooded Friday as torrential rains hit Israel's southernmost city.
An estimated 16.5 mm of rain fell in Eilat, half the average annual amount, closing the airport and blocking entrance into the city via highway 90. The airport was reopened on Saturday morning.
