These photos were taken in Hebron on February 25, as Israel Defense Forces troops clashed with Palestinian protesters, close to the  HaShoter checkpoint, which divides the Israeli and Palestinian sections of the city.

Soldiers stood at the top of a deserted street, which typically hosts a teeming market place, and the Palestinians stood a block or two away. Because of the protests, all the stores were shut; there were no cars. Three or four blocks of the street were littered instead with rocks. Palestinians had set up a makeshift barrier, which the IDF took down, and also set tires alight.

For hours, the Palestinians thew stones, fire crackers and Molotov cocktails at the soldiers, who responded with tear gas.
