There are approximately 11 billion birds which migrate around the world twice a year, in the fall and spring.About 500 million of them fly through the Israeli skies - In the fall they travel south to Africa, and in the Spring, north to Europe. Israeli musicians and singers have been bewitched by the birds, which inspired Naomi Shemer to translate the French song 'si les oiseaux tout pret' into Hebrew. The song was later considered one of the NAHAL band's biggest hits.
