International superstar soccer player Ronaldo is back in yet another commercial for the Israeli TV provider HOT - and this time with some haredi friends. HOT released clips from the upcoming ad on Thursday, featuring some bloopers from filming. Ronaldo seemed to have a hard time with the word "hatraot," which means alerts or notifications.
We've all been there. Sometimes we stumble over a Hebrew word or two - and our friends help us out. Of course, we're not all Cristiano Ronaldo. And our friends probably aren't the stars of the hit HOT series Shababnikim.
Three of the four stars of Shababnikim - Daniel Gad, Israel Atias and Omer Perlman - flew to Madrid to film the clip earlier this month. The TV series about wayward haredi youth - which has become wildly popular in Israel - won four prizes for the Israeli TV academy last week.
"It was a moving and unforgettable experience," said Atias of the filming. "Cristiano was courteous, professional and it felt like he fit right into our crew. There are rumors he might join the next season as the fifth 'Shababnik.'"
Ronaldo has been appearing in HOT commercials for two years now. According to Calcalist, HOT was able to get the star through its parent company, Altice, which is owned by French-Israeli billionaire Patrick Drahi.
