Israel’s national rugby team can all but secure a place in the top two of Division 2B of the European Nations Cup with a win over Denmark at the Wingate Institute on Saturday. Israel booked its place in the next stage of the World Cup qualifiers with its 17-15 win over Latvia two weeks ago, improving to 3-0 in Division 2B. The blue-and-white will be aiming to beat Denmark (1-1-1) by at least four tries and also earn a bonus point which will bring it closer to winning its group and earning promotion to Division 2A next year. “The Danes crushed Serbia last week and they will be looking to cause us a lot of problems,” said Israel coach Ra’anan Penn. “We will have to be better than them in every position on the field.”
