Halperin, according to the ministry, misrepresented Russia's foreign policy stance in the interview with Russia's Kommersant daily, published on Sunday.
In a separate statement, issued later on Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Bogdanov also held talks with Israel's ambassador to Russia, Simona Halperin.
The Hamas terror organization stated that they appreciated Lavrov's comments, saying his comments "confirms Washington’s criminal role in the continued suffering of our Palestinian people."
The statement did not make clear whether Russia sought the release of all hostages seized by Hamas or just the release of any Russian nationals among them.
The targeted ad, which is written in both Hebrew and English, read: “Russia has chosen a side – it stands with Hamas."
“All of America’s enemies in the region are consulting and getting closer, and the day may come when they join the war together, and turn America into a thing of the past,” the Hamas official said.
“The Chinese are thinking of carrying out a plan in Taiwan, doing what the Al-Qassam Brigades did on October 7," Khaled Mashal also claimed.
Israel urged Russia on Thursday to expel the visiting Hamas delegation, calling their invitation to Moscow "deplorable".
Russia has ties to all key players in the Middle East, including Israel, Iran, the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, the terrorist group that controls Gaza.
