Today’s children’s rooms are no longer just a place to sleep or store toys. They have become colorful, vibrant spaces, where every item is carefully chosen to spark imagination, exploration, and creativity. Colors, shapes, and textures create everyday experiences that encourage play, quality time, and communication between children and adults, turning the room into a small life story that develops every day.
When design meets play: IKEA presents the GREJSIMOJS collection, a set of 33 items designed to turn children’s rooms into a space that sparks curiosity and laughter – not only for children, but for adults as well. The collection includes, among other things, the classic MAMMUT chair in a new furry design in bright pink and blue colors, storage products shaped like cats, mouse-shaped speakers in purple or green, and a storage ottoman that reveals a smiling “monster” when opened. The rocking horse is designed in the shape of a bird and serves both as a sculpture and as a toy.
The goal of GREJSIMOJS is to combine design and experience even after the children go to sleep, and to make shared time at home more inviting and playful. The IKEA Play Report study shows that 54% of parents want to play more with their children but struggle to find time and space – the new collection is designed to fill this gap.
According to IKEA, playtime helps reduce stress, improves creativity, and brings household members closer together. The GREJSIMOJS collection will launch in February and will be available in all IKEA stores.
