When Danielle Amit released a chocolate cake in a box eight months ago, the internet erupted in hysteria. The concept of a cake in a box was still new, the weight of the cake – about a kilogram – created an expectation to drown in a sea of chocolate, and the price, no less than NIS 139.90, caused a scandal even before the first bite.

We all know how it developed after the tasting: Reviews that, to say the least, did not praise the bite, complained about the massive amount of sugar and the dense, sticky texture, and generally did not swoon over the bite.

And now Danielle Amit is doing it again, and just before Shavuot, she is launching a cheesecake named Lotus Crunch. Again in a metal box, again weighing a kilogram, only this time the price is significantly higher.

The new cake, sold under the brand Dani's, costs no less than NIS 169 and is based on one of the dessert recipes that Danielle loves to make most.

The cake is manufactured for Amit by the Biscotti bakery, and according to the technical specifications – we are talking about a lotttt of lactose joined by Lotus, biscuits, and butter. At the base of the cake is a cream cheese layer based on 42% heavy cream, with layers of biscuit and Lotus spread, hints of dark chocolate, butter, and vanilla extract, and everything is topped off with a layer of soft Lotus cream.

Those close to Amit report that development lasted over half a year with the goal of reaching an indulgent, balanced, and not too heavy cake, and the Raito company, which builds consumer brands with creators and athletes and is also a partner in Turbo – the protein brand of NBA star Deni Avdija, also took part in its creation.

As part of the launch, which is also accompanied by a witty Instagram video that pokes a bit of fun at itself, Amit visited the Big Brother house for a mission related to the cake.

We promise to taste it soon and tell you if the NIS 169 cake is truly worth your money.
