Instagram may not have officially announced a new feature just yet, but a brief answer from the company's CEO, Adam Mosseri, has already managed to generate significant interest online. During a Q&A session he conducted on his personal Story, Mosseri was asked whether Instagram plans to add an option to search for users within the Story viewer list – one of the oldest and most discussed requests among heavy users of the platform.

His response was brief, but enough to spark expectations: "It's something we are definitely going to look into."

For those unfamiliar with this daily pain point, the only way currently to check if a specific person has viewed your Story is to manually scroll through the viewer list – a task that can become particularly exhausting when dealing with dozens, hundreds, or sometimes even thousands of views. A simple search box could solve the matter within seconds.

Although this is currently just a hint and not an official announcement, Mosseri's mere reference to the topic is already leading users to believe that the option is truly on Instagram's development table. It would not be particularly surprising either – in recent years, the social network has been adding more and more tools designed to improve the daily user experience and not just introduce flashy features.

If the feature does indeed arrive in the future, it probably will not change Instagram dramatically, but it will certainly turn a small and annoying task into something much simpler and faster. Sometimes, it is precisely the minor upgrades that users look forward to the most.
