In recent years, Israeli wine has earned an honored place on restaurant tables, and now a bistro in Rehovot has decided to make it the main attraction as well. CAFÉ CEZAR is launching the “Israeli Wine Journey” - a series of tasting evenings that will host local wineries and offer guests structured tasting routes alongside the venue’s food menu.

Behind the project are the bistro’s owners, Itai and Niso Cohen, who aimed to create a permanent platform for Israeli wines and connect local cuisine with wineries from across the country. The selection of wineries and wines is led by Niso Cohen, who chose wines that, according to him, represent quality, character, and an Israeli story.

The series opened on May 5 with Golan Heights Winery, featuring tastings from the “Yarden” series, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay from the Odem Vineyard, and Malbec. Guests can choose between a short tasting route of three wines or an extended route that also includes Syrah or Heights Wine.

Starting May 19, Castel Winery and Raziel Winery are also being hosted at the venue, with additional wineries expected to join in the future from across the country.

Alongside the wines, the bistro serves its food menu, which combines classic cooking techniques with fresh ingredients - some of which come from the family’s Kenigstein-Cohen farm.

The initiative joins the growing trend of Israeli wine gaining strength in restaurants and bars, with more venues seeking to highlight local produce and offer accessible tasting experiences even to audiences who are not professional wine enthusiasts.
