For Skin Cancer Awareness Month, dermo-cosmetics brand La Roche-Posay, in collaboration with the Israeli Skin Cancer Association, will offer free early-detection skin cancer screenings conducted by expert dermatologists. The screenings will take place during the month of June in four shopping malls across Israel and will be open to the public without the need for prior registration.
The screenings will take place in specially designed pop-up areas, including treatment rooms where dermatologists will examine moles and suspicious skin spots. The space will also offer information and samples of sun protection products.
Dates and locations: the first pop-up will take place at TLV Mall in Tel Aviv on June 1–4. It will be followed by Ofer Ramat Aviv Mall on June 8–11, Ofer Hakiryon in Kiryat Bialik on June 15–18, and City Mall Ashdod on June 22–25. All screenings will run between 10:00 and 20:00, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Dr. Anna Eshkol, a dermatology specialist who will lead the screenings, explains that each year more than 1,400 new melanoma cases are diagnosed in Israel. “The most effective way to protect the skin is a combination of regular periodic examinations by a dermatologist and consistent use of a high-quality broad-spectrum sunscreen.”
The initiative allows the general public to get checked for free, without scheduling an appointment and without commitment — simply stop by the mall and get examined. And that is exactly the goal: To make the screening accessible and easy.
