When the Argentinean snack landed in the country three years ago, sweet lovers experienced a culinary orgasm even before the first bite. The combination of raspberries grown in Patagonia and the two types of chocolate coating it whetted the appetite, and along with the stunning appearance (especially when cut in half) – turned Franui into one of the most beloved chocolate snacks.

Three years forward and a new flavor of Franui joins our lives in a storm just before the big heatwave, igniting enthusiasm mixed with curiosity. It too is extremely photogenic, chocolaty, and based on the same raspberry from Patagonia, except that unlike the previous Franui – the chocolate coating of the new Franui is pink and based on white chocolate mixed with raspberries.

Another difference is the price that climbed up and ranges between NIS 34.90 – NIS 49.90 for a 150-gram package.

Is it delicious?

Let us start with the technical details: The raspberry is the same fleshy raspberry, around it a layer of white chocolate, and all this goodness is wrapped in another layer of pink chocolate that resembles in appearance the ruby chocolate that entered our lives in a storm, and then also disappeared in silence.

The raspberry is juicy and excellent, not too sour and not sweet. The white chocolate layer adds a fun sweetness, and then comes a refreshing sourness from the direction of the pink chocolate. Lovers of the product who have tasted a Franui or two or fifty in their lifetime, declared that this is the most delicious version so far, thanks to a bite that is not too sweet but super indulgent and makes you want more and more, as if it were a fruit salad and not a snack with a high caloric value.

The bottom line

What can we say, very delicious, very very much so even, this thing. Like a pile of sunflower seeds just waiting to be cracked when turning on the TV or just passing by the freezer. And it is dangerous because you cannot really stop after one or ten. Except that – the high price turns this delicious thing from a fun snack into a luxury product, and that is already annoying.
