The Re'em Medical Center of Meuhedet Health Fund was inaugurated today in Rehovot in the presence of the President of the State, Isaac Herzog. This is the largest and most advanced medical center of the fund, built with an investment of over NIS 70 million, and its purpose is to expand specialist medical services in the heart of the community.

The center spans an area of approximately 8,000 square meters and includes 25 medical institutes. Among the services provided on site: An MRI operating around the clock, the first to operate in a health fund, an imaging institute including CT, mammography, X-ray and ultrasound services, a cardiology institute, a diabetes institute, a women’s health center, a child development institute, the Meuhedet Junior Center, an eye institute, a rehabilitation institute and a consulting medicine center.

In addition, an urgent care center operates on site, providing response during evening hours and on weekends when the clinics are closed, thereby in many cases enabling patients to avoid turning to an emergency room.

President of the State Isaac Herzog toured the center and said that community resilience relies on a strong community healthcare system. According to him, the Re'em Center is not just another medical institution in the community but significant news for the future of public medicine in Israel. He thanked the medical teams for their dedicated work and wished them success in their continued activity.

Chairman of Meuhedet Eyal Gabay noted that strengthening community healthcare infrastructure enables the provision of high-quality medical response within the health fund framework and closing the treatment circle in one place. According to him, the establishment of the center in Rehovot joins a broader move to strengthen medicine in the periphery, alongside the planning and establishment of the Peres Negev Hospital in Beersheba. Gabay emphasized that the moves are intended to reduce gaps between the center and the periphery and to connect community medicine with hospital medicine.

CEO of Meuhedet Uzi Bitan said that the center fulfills the fund’s vision of future-oriented and innovative community medicine, through a unique model for specialist medicine and an institutes center. According to him, thought was invested in planning the services, selecting advanced technologies and recruiting specialist physicians and professional teams who will accompany patients throughout the entire process. He added that Re'em constitutes a first swallow toward the establishment of a nationwide network of similar centers.

The establishment of the center integrates into a broader trend in the healthcare system of strengthening community medicine and expanding advanced services outside hospital walls, with the aim of making high-quality and more accessible care available to the public.
