The event, titled “High Pulse Stand-Up Marathon,” featured several of Israel’s leading comedians, including Daniel Chen, Mor Chen, Moshe Ashkenazi, Amiram Tovim, and Uri Brener. Held at the Weizmann Institute, the evening included dinner and entertainment, with proceeds designated for the purchase of advanced cardiac equipment for the hospital’s intensive care unit.
According to organizers, demand for tickets exceeded expectations, with many unable to secure seats after the event sold out. Reserve soldiers were among those invited to attend. Following the strong response, the Friends of Kaplan Medical Center Association said it is considering organizing an additional event.
The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Kaplan Medical Center, headed by Dr. Natalia Kopman, treats some of the hospital’s most serious cardiac cases, including heart attacks, heart failure, emergency surgeries, bypass procedures, and artificial heart implant cases.
A number of major Israeli companies sponsored the fundraiser, including Ashtrom, Mizrahi-Tefahot Bank, Harel Insurance, Azorim, McDonald's, Phoenix, Neopharm, Novo Nordisk, and Clal Insurance, among others.
Prof. Tarif Bader, director of Kaplan Medical Center and Herzfeld Hospital, said the event would help strengthen the hospital’s cardiac care services.
“Kaplan Medical Center is a home of excellence that combines professional quality, innovation, and personal, humane, and dedicated care,” Bader said. “Thanks to this unique performance, and the laughter shared by hundreds of audience members, we will improve our cardiac care system and continue advancing the hospital toward its strategic goals.”
Amos Shavit, CEO of the Friends of Kaplan Medical Center Association, thanked donors, sponsors, and attendees for supporting the initiative.
“It was important for us to organize this unique evening, both because people need a chance to laugh, and because our patients deserve the best medical care possible,” Shavit said. “I sincerely apologize to everyone who was unable to obtain a ticket and hope we will be able to hold an additional event soon.”
