Ambassador Shapiro, US Embassy staff give blood in Tel Aviv
Shapiro one of several US Embassy staff members who donate a total of 78 units of blood at Sourasky Medical Center.
US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro gave blood at Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv on Monday.

The US Embassy in Tel Aviv posted a photo of the envoy having blood drawn on its official Facebook page.

According to the post, Shapiro was one of several US Embassy staff members who donated a total of 78 units of blood to the hospital.

The 43-year-old Shapiro has been the US Ambassador to Israel for nearly two years. The fluent Hebrew speaker had been a major point man for the US Jewish community in the White House prior to his appointment.
