The movie mogul was taken in for questioning in London due to his alleged involvement in what the police have termed the "gifts affair."
International movie mogul Arnon Milchan was questioned under caution last week in London, under suspicion that he bribed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Milchan already testified twice in the Case 1000 investigation, that was dubbed as the “gifts affair,” but it’s the first time that Milchan was described as a suspect, Haaretz reported.

In his past testimonies Milchan confirmed suspicions that he delivered expensive gifts to the prime minister and his wife, Sara.

The decision to investigate Milchan was a result of aroused suspicions when Milchan tried to influence Netanyahu to help him advance his businesses in Israel and outside of the country. Reports said he was questioned more than once last week, and that the version he delivered affirmed the suspicions against him.

Other reports said senior officials in the police thought it would be difficult to indict Netanyahu with bribery while the person giving the bribe is not a suspect, and that led them to launch question Milchan.

Last month Ari Harow, Netanyahu’s former chief of staff, signed a state witness deal with the police.

It was reported that Harow’s testimony would shed more light on Netanyahu’s “gifts” apparatus.

When police asked to impose a gag order on Harow’s deal, they revealed that the police is investigating Netanyahu on suspicion of bribery, fraud and breach of trust.
