Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to condemn the killing of an Arab youth who was found dead in western Jerusalem on Wednesday morning, according to Palestinian news agency Ma'an.

According to the report, Abbas demanded Netanyahu denounce what he said was the kidnapping and murder of the 16-year-old. He also blamed the current atmosphere of tensions in the region on Israel, calling for "real action" to prevent attacks by settlers.

The Palestinian leader was cited as saying Netanayhu should make the condemnation just as the premier had condemned the recent kidnapping and murder of three Israeli youths.
