Ashdod Port workers go on strike following suspension of 2 union members

The Ashdod Port workers union announced a general strike on Friday morning because of what they called the "unrestrained" behavior of chairman Gideon Siterman, Army Radio reported.
The workers are protesting the dismissal of two union members, and said they will return to work only after suspension letters sent to the two are rescinded.
The Histadrut labor federation said in a statement that it "views the unilateral moves of the Ashdod Port chairman gravely, including causing the workers' strike and suspending union members."
The Histadrut called on the port's chairman to "restore sanity and restore work relations back to normal."
