Ben-Gurion Airport in state of emergency as plane with faulty wheel about to land

Israeli authorities have declared a state of emergency at Ben-Gurion Airport near Lod on Tuesday after an El Al passenger jet due to arrive later in the day reported a faulty wheel.
An emergency was declared on El Al flight 2521 from Tel Aviv to Prague on Tuesday morning, after tire shreds were found on the Ben Gurion Airport runway from which the plane departed, the Israel Airports Authority announced.
The plane, which contains 181 passengers and crew members, has turned around to return to Israel and is scheduled to land at around 10 a.m. local time, the IAA said.
El Al confirmed that the pilot was returning the plane to Israel in order to fix the tire, and said that passengers will be taken care of by El Al representatives at the airport.
