Chief rabbis: Remind public that abortions prohibited

Chief Rabbis Yonah Metzger and Shlomo Amar called Wednesday for Israeli rabbis to remind their congregations of the religious prohibition on abortions in their sermons this coming Saturday, Israel Radio reported.

Metzger and Amar wrote in a letter that "We must remind the wider public of the great seriousness of killing fetuses which is really like murder."

The chief rabbis praised anti-abortion organization Efrat for "saving tens-of-thousands of unborn children."
