Deputy FM Elkin slams Abbas for remarks on Jews visiting Temple Mount

Deputy Foreign Minister Ze'ev Ekin accused Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas of waging a diplomatic war against Israel in light of remarks the PA leader made about the Temple Mount over the weekend.
The Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman told Israeli Radio that Abbas would pay a "heavy price" for saying that Jews should be prevented from visiting the contested holy site and that Palestinians should defend the compound from them.
Elkin reiterated Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman's response to the issue, stating that Abbas's comments revealed his "true face" as a "Holocaust denier who speaks about a Palestinian state free of Jews."
