The European Jewish Congress (EJC)on Tuesday called on European leaders to unequivocally press for democracy and freedom for Iranians and to express concern about the situation in the Islamic Republic.

EJC President Dr. Moshe Kantor called on European leaders to issue responses in line with those issued during the demonstrations since the beginning of the year in the Arab world. "It is vital that the European leaders do not suddenly fall silent when they are needed the most," he added, "As Europeans we should fully support those who fight for freedoms that we take for granted."
