Government approves NIS 1 billion plan to aid Holocaust survivors

The cabinet on Sunday approved Finance Minister Yair Lapid's plan to add NIS 1 billion to the budget for aiding Holocaust survivors.
The plan, which was approved hours ahead of Holocaust Remembrance Day, will affect some 200,000 Holocaust survivors in Israel.
Speaking ahead of the vote to approve the plan, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said, "We have a moral obligation to see to it that Holocaust survivors living among us can live out their lives honorably. We [also] have the supreme national responsibility of preventing another Holocaust; let us do both."
