Knesset accepting submissions for ceramic art exhibition

September 20, 2012 10:56

The Knesset is calling for ceramic sculptors to submit works of art for a planned exhibit in its halls.

"Identity, Materials," curated by ceramic artist Shlomit Bauman will be displayed outside the Knesset's committee rooms.

According to Bauman, since the 1930s, Israeli artists have been using ceramics to express their identity and Israeli culture.

The theme of the collection will be questions about the meaning of local identity in Israel's complex, multi-cultural situation.
