Murderer of taxi driver Roth to be released from prison 4.5 years early

Moshe Ben-Ivgi, who killed taxi driver Derek Roth 20 years ago, was set to be released from prison four and a half years early, the Beersheba District Court decided Tuesday.

Ben-Ivgi, along with Arbel Aloni, was convicted for the murder of Roth in 1994. In 1996 he was sentenced to 16 years in prison. In May 2004 he escaped to Argentina while on furlough, where he was arrested a few months later. Ben-Ivgi was extradited to Israel in November 2013.
