Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Sunday that Israel's enemies "did not succeed then" in destroying Israel, and "will not succeed now."
Speaking at Ariel Sharon Park at a ceremony to light the second candle of Hanukkah, Netanyahu said "we mark the victory of the heritage of Israel over our enemies, the victory of the few against the many. Then, we stood against the greatest forces in the ancient world, which wanted us to deny our heritage – and we defeated them."
