Palestinian man shot while crossing into Egypt through tunnel.

Egyptian security forces opened fire on a Palestinian man on the Gaza border Tuesday, wounding him on his left shoulder.

According to Egyptian security sources, the man was shot as he emerged from a tunnel leading into Egypt. He was evacuated to Rafah public hospital for treatment, security sources added.

Egypt helps maintain an Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip that has been in place since 2007, which has caused increased tensions on both sides of the Rafah crossing, Maan news agency reports.
