President Shimon Peres charged that "there can be no compromise with terror" on Sunday as terrorists in the Gaza Strip continued to launch rockets at Israel.

"Hamas terrorists aim to kill and injure as many innocent Israelis as possible. We do not wish to harm civilians," said Peres. He added that the "intolerable" situation forced five million Israeli citizens to run to bomb shelters.
